Colleges and universities

Give every student somewhere to turn when a message does not look right.

Students, faculty and staff can report suspicious messages and calls. Your executives and high-risk people get proactive filtering and call screening. Your security team gets visibility that feeds awareness training, proactive controls, EDR posture and MDM configuration.

REPORT: the student experience

Guidance while it still matters.

When a message does not look right, students get a plain-language assessment and a next step they can act on.

  1. 1

A student gets a convincing message

A Microsoft account alert the week classes start. A job offer from a professor. A tuition hold that needs a payment today.

  2. 2

    They report it

A screenshot, the copied message or the sender. Whatever they have.

  3. 3

    They get an answer

In plain language, with a next step that points them to the channels they already trust.

  4. 4

    Security sees the campaign

Many reports of the same lure in a morning is one campaign, and your team knows it before the help desk does.

Your people can report. Your team sees the campaign.

Start with a free 30-day pilot. No MDM required to start.

UNDERSTAND: what your security team sees

Coordinated attacks across campus, the same morning.

Reports from students, faculty and staff are grouped automatically into campaigns, so your team can warn the population that is being targeted while the lure is still landing.

  • Which campaigns are hitting students, faculty or staff right now
  • The brand being impersonated (the university, Microsoft, a bank, a professor)
  • Volume and timing, so a semester-start spike is visible as it starts
  • Signal that feeds awareness training, proactive controls, EDR posture and MDM configuration

Gain intelligence on scams targeting your population while campaigns are still active, giving security and IT teams time to investigate, warn the campus and coordinate a response.

Campaign Intelligence. The automatic identification of coordinated activity across reports and protected devices. When a message or link is confirmed malicious, the next unknown-sender check on any protected iPhone marks it automatically.

PROTECT: high-risk populations

Proactive filtering and call screening for the people attackers target by name.

Some populations warrant proactive protection. Add it for executives, finance, IT and research roles, managed from the same team dashboard.

One platform

Report. Understand. Protect.

The same platform your fraud and security teams use for the people you serve extends to the people you employ.

1 of 3

REPORT

Give anyone a trusted place to send suspicious messages and get immediate guidance. No app required.

Customers, students, employees, anyone your organization serves.

2 of 3

UNDERSTAND

Give security teams visibility into attacks, targeting patterns, campaigns and organizational exposure.

Security, fraud and IT leadership.

3 of 3

PROTECT

Proactively identify and stop threats for employees and high-risk users.

Your workforce, executives, and the people attackers target most.

Why this holds up

Reports are cheap; triage is what you are buying, and SmishAlert does the triage before it reaches your team.
SANS 2026: fewer organizations have control over or visibility into employees' mobile devices, which is one reason smishing keeps rising.
Messages you send are analyzed to answer you and are not kept. Your phone number is not stored on a permanent record.
Works alongside the email security and awareness training you already run.

FAQ

Questions security leaders ask

Does this require students to install an app or enroll in MDM?

No. People can report without installing anything. The app is optional and only for populations you choose to protect proactively, such as finance or IT administrators.

Do we see who reported?

Reporters appear as opaque identifiers by default, never as phone numbers. Your team sees the campaign, the lure and the volume.

What about FERPA and student privacy?

Reporting is an intentional act by the student. Messages are analyzed to answer them and are not kept, and phone numbers are not stored on a permanent record. Full details are in the privacy documentation and available under NDA for your review.

How is this priced?

Organizations start with a free 30-day pilot. Talk to the team and we will scope it to your campus.
