Getting started with SmishAlert on Android (enterprise)

Install through your organization, sign in, and use Report, Alerts, Learn, and Account.

Who the Android app is for

SmishAlert for Android is provided for **enterprise deployment**—your company or SmishAlert rolls it out to employees. We **do not** offer consumer in-app purchases or personal subscriptions on Google Play; for individual trial and paid plans, use the **iOS app** on the App Store.

Download and install

Install the app the way your IT or security team directs: Managed Google Play, an MDM catalog, an internal download link, or another approved channel. If they share a Play Store link for your org, it may look like a standard listing (e.g. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smishalert.android)—use only the instructions from your administrator.

Sign in and onboarding

Open the app and sign in with the method your account uses (for example email/password or Google, depending on your build and organization). You may be asked to enter a phone number, confirm SMS consent for onboarding messages, or complete org onboarding—follow the prompts. If you see "awaiting organization" or an access error, your invite may still be pending; check with your admin or use the email link they sent.

Main tabs

The Android app is organized into tabs: Alerts (your analyzed reports and history), Report (submit a suspicious image, text, or URL/QR), Learn (opens educational content in your browser), and Account (profile, legal links, and support). Exact labels can vary slightly by release.

Report something suspicious

On the Report tab: submit a screenshot from your gallery (with optional crop), paste message text or a URL, or use the camera to scan a QR code. You can also share an image or text into SmishAlert from another app (Photos, messaging apps, etc.) using Android's Share sheet—choose SmishAlert if you see it.

How Android differs from iPhone

iOS offers consumer subscriptions (App Store) with message filtering and system reporting APIs where available. Android is enterprise-focused: no consumer Google Play billing—access is through your organization's program. SmishAlert on Android does not replace your default SMS app; protection is centered on submitting reports, reviewing alerts, and routing signals to your security team. For consumer purchase and trial, see Getting started with SmishAlert on iOS.

Enterprise and MDM

IT teams can deploy the enterprise build with managed configuration (for example API endpoints) through supported EMMs. If URLs or analytics settings are pushed from your MDM, you may need to force-stop the app or reboot after policy changes so new settings apply.
