How do I know SmishAlert is working?

Simple ways to tell that protection is on and what you might notice.

On iPhone, SmishAlert runs quietly in the background once you've turned on filtering and started your trial or subscription. On Android, confirm you're signed in and check the Alerts tab for analyzed submissions—see Getting started with SmishAlert on Android.

What you might notice

  • Fewer suspicious or junk messages in your main Messages inbox (they may be filtered to a separate list).
  • When you open the SmishAlert app, you can see a summary of protection activity (what was filtered or analyzed).
  • If you report a message (Share or Messages extension), you'll get a result like Clean, Suspicious, or High risk.

Double-check it's on (iPhone)

Go to Settings → Messages → Unknown & Spam and make sure Text Message Filtering is on and SmishAlert is selected. Then open the SmishAlert app and confirm you're in your free trial or have an active subscription. If something still seems wrong, see Message filtering not working in Troubleshooting.
