Subscription and 7-day free trial (individual iPhone)

What's included in the trial, how to subscribe, and what happens when the trial ends (iPhone / Apple billing).

This article focuses on the **consumer** SmishAlert app on iPhone (Apple billing). Android is **enterprise-only** (no consumer IAP)—see FAQ: Pricing and billing and Getting started with SmishAlert on Android (enterprise).

SmishAlert offers a 7-day free trial with full protection on iOS. No payment is required to start. At the end of the trial, you can subscribe to keep protection (and reporting) active.

What's included in the trial

  • Full message filtering (SMS, unknown senders).
  • Call and message reporting.
  • Share extension and Messages extension reporting.
  • QR code scanning and threat analysis.
  • Protection activity summary in the app.

Alert limits (reporting)

iOS (SmishAlert Plus, billed through Apple): During the 7-day trial you have up to 30 alerts per month (the limit resets each month). With an active subscription you get 30 alerts per month (plus any additional alerts you've purchased). If your trial has ended and you have not subscribed yet, you can use 1 free alert once—after that, subscribe in the app to keep full access. You may also see a one-time option to buy an extra alert (about $0.99) when you need one more report before upgrading. We do not offer consumer in-app purchases on Android—SmishAlert for Android is deployed by organizations (licensing is through your employer or SmishAlert account team, not Google Play consumer billing).

Pricing after the trial

Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID: $4.99/month or $49.99/year (about two months free on the annual plan). You can change or cancel in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

When the trial ends

If you don't subscribe, on-device filtering and most reporting stop until you subscribe. You may still have one free alert available once (if you haven't used it yet)—open the app to see your options. You can re-enable full access anytime by subscribing in the app.
