Subscription (individual iPhone)
How to subscribe on iPhone, what's included, alert limits, and what happens without a subscription.
This article focuses on the consumer SmishAlert app on iPhone (Apple billing). Android is enterprise-only and uses org licensing; see FAQ: Pricing and billing.
SmishAlert Personal is free on iPhone and includes on-device filtering, Practice Inbox, and up to 10 reports a month. Unknown Guard is $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year through the App Store. Android is on Google Play. See Getting started with SmishAlert on Android.
What's included with a subscription
- On-device filtering of suspicious texts (iPhone).
- Practice Inbox.
- A higher monthly reporting allowance than Personal.
- Share extension and Messages extension reporting.
- QR code scanning.
Alert limits (reporting)
Personal includes up to 10 reports a month. With Unknown Guard you get 30 reports a month. Practice Inbox does not use that allowance. You may also see a one-time option to buy an extra report (about $0.99) on iPhone. Organization phones use your employer's license, not App Store or Play billing.
Unknown Guard
Unknown Guard is $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year, billed by Apple. It adds screening of texts from unknown senders on iPhone. You can change or cancel in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
Without Unknown Guard
You can keep using Personal at no charge: on-device filtering, Practice Inbox, and your monthly reports. Open the app if you want to add Unknown Guard.
