Why do I see 'Subscribe to continue'?

Your free trial may have ended. Here's what to do so you can keep using reporting and protection.

If you see a message like "Subscribe to continue" or "Your trial has ended" when you try to report a message or use certain features, it usually means your 7-day free trial is over and you haven't subscribed yet. SmishAlert needs an active subscription (or trial) for full filtering and reporting.

What to do

  • Open the main SmishAlert app (not the share sheet or Messages extension).
  • Tap the option to subscribe (e.g. "Subscribe" or "Start subscription"). You'll be taken through Apple's payment flow—$4.99/month or $49.99/year, charged to your Apple ID.
  • If you already paid and you're on a new phone or reinstalled: tap "Restore purchases" or "Restore subscription" so the app recognizes your existing subscription. See Restore your subscription on a new device for details.

I don't want to subscribe right now

That's okay—filtering and most reporting pause without a subscription. If you haven't used it yet, you may still have one free alert after your trial (see Alert limits in Subscription and free trial). You can subscribe again anytime in the app. If you want to cancel a subscription you already have so you won't be charged again, see Cancel or change your subscription.
