Report a message or screenshot with the Share extension
Use the SmishAlert share extension to report images (e.g. screenshots) from Photos or other apps.
The SmishAlert Share extension lets you send a screenshot (or any image) of a suspicious message to SmishAlert for analysis. This is useful when the message is in an app that doesn't support Report Junk (e.g. some third-party messaging apps) or when you've already taken a screenshot.
How to use the Share extension
- Take a screenshot of the suspicious message (see our guide on how to take a screenshot on different iPhones if needed).
- Open the Photos app and find the screenshot.
- Tap the Share button (square with an arrow).
- Scroll the share sheet and tap SmishAlert (or More and enable SmishAlert if you don't see it).
- The image is sent to SmishAlert for analysis. You may see a brief confirmation in the extension; results appear in the SmishAlert app.
Reporting via the Share extension requires an active subscription or 7-day free trial. If you see "Subscribe to continue," your trial has ended—open the SmishAlert app and tap to subscribe, or see Why do I see 'Subscribe to continue'? in this help center.
